Do Things Download In Sleep Mode카테고리 없음 2021. 4. 22. 00:31
Aug 29, 2010 Sleep places your programs into RAM, then goes into low-power mode, used for things like moving your laptop to a meeting room, then waking it up quickly for a presentation 10 minutes later. Hibernation puts your system state into a hibernation file, and shuts itself down. That would defeat the purpose of sleep mode if it still did things. Check out my SL 1 playthrough. I don't see why you would think you could download when the computer is off. Do you hear the hard drive on? I am a Nintendo.
I am trying to download a large file to my Windows 7 PC from an external hard drive. I started the download and I got a rectangle with a progress bar and a message that said 55 minutes were left. I checked the screen about 10 minutes later and the progress bar showed some progress, but the message still said 55 minutes left. I came back later and the display was dark. This is normal, as either my computer turns the display off or the display turns itself off after a set amount of time (15 minutes, I think) of no input from the keyboard (to save power, I presume). As is normal, I just hit any key and the display came back on. However, the rectangle with the progress bar was gone. I checked the file and found that it was only partly downloaded. I could not tell if it was still downloading, so I checked again after a few minutes, and no more had been downloaded. To avoid partial duplication, I deleted what had been downloaded, and started downloading it again. I stayed and watched the display this time. After about 15 minutes of downloading, the display went dark and I immediatedly hit a key to get the display to turn back on. When it did, the rectangle with the progress bar was gone. I checked the file to see that the download was apparently stopped. I don't understand why Microsoft would set things up so that the download would stop when the display is turned off, but I tried to turn off the display power saving feature. I could not find a way to do it on the computer using human logic. I tried going through the setup menu on the display itself. I tried looking in my Windows 7 Simplified book. I tried
Googling it. I tried the Microsoft website. I tried searching here. I could not find a way to do it. I guess I need Microsoft logic. Does anybody here know how to do this? Also, I want to disconnect the hard drive from the computer. If I remember correctly, I am supposted to demount the drive first using 'Computer'. When I right or left click on the drive in 'Computer', I don't get any option to demount it. How do I demount the external hard drive? Yes, I searched for answers for that question, too.I have steam running in the background when computer is not sleeping but I was wondering if Steam will download games when my computer is locked/sleeping.

If your computer is locked, that means that your computer is running but that you will be prompted for a password when you go to use it next. In this case, Steam will continue downloading your games as long as the computer is running, e.g. unless the computer falls asleep.
If you put your computer to sleep manually or if it falls asleep automatically after a while, that means that your computer's CPU and some other components more or less turn off. If your computer is asleep, all of your running programs are effectively paused in a suspended state, and Steam will definitely not download games.
